Teenage years can be a stressful and difficult time. You’re beginning to turn into a young adult, trying to juggle school, hobbies, friends and the opposite sex successful and a top of this your skin is suffering from terrible blemishes and acne Over the years we have seen hundreds of creams, oils, facial scrubs, wipes and lotions all suggesting they can cure our blemish problems, with each product offering a different kind of treatment depending on our daily routine and needs. But lets face it if you’ve got acne or blemish prone skin you want to get rid of it and you want it gone as quickly and easily as possible. Finally, we’ve got the answers!

Acne and blemishes affect some people worse than others, of course as a teen if you’re affected worse than your friends and peers you want to know…why me? Many people say that acne is just an unfortunate skin condition and there is no reason why some teens suffer from it and others don’t Although this may be partly true, there are also reasons why your skin may be worse than other suffers and believe it or not your lifestyle might actually be affecting your skin!

If you don’t regularly change your pillowcase or towel they could be covered in harmful bacteria, which can get into the pores of your skin and irritate them

Eating or drinking too much sugar or junk food, OK we all need a treat once in a while but if your diet consists of these items on a day to day basis then un-healthy toxins could be getting to your pores and affecting your skin. Touching or leaning on your face too much, again this is a difficult one, on a tiring day at school or work it can be very tempting to lean your head on your hand, but touching your face can spread any bacteria you may have picked up into your pores Keeping both your hair and face completely clean each day will also help reduce the blemishes, as well as taking any make-up off as soon as possible.

Acne is a condition of the skin that shows up several different types of spots such as, black heads, white heads, pimples and cysts. Therefore, there are technically loads of products out there suggesting they could solve these problems. However, try not to be tempted to use all of them, with skin problems you should always go for the less is more approach, so stick to one product and wash regularly with warm water Also, do not be tempted to try and pop and spots, this can push infections back into the skin and anger your pores, resulting in even more redness! Remember also, acne is only temporary and picking your spots may result in scaring.

Unfortunately acne isn’t always restricted to your face, anywhere on your body has the potential to suffer from blocked pores and break out with spots and blemishes Many suffers can get acne on their back, which can be problematic particularly in the summer when you’re more exposed to the sun, as tanning has been known to worsen acne, rather than mask it like most people think.

It can be confusing, especially with the thousands of skin care products on the market all claiming they can do the same thing So why not revitalise and detox your body, enriching your skin by choosing a product devised by experts who have been there and know exactly what you’re going through, rather than using products filled with chemicals that have the potential to worsen your problem, choose an organic and natural source.

Firstly having great skin is a major part of any beauty cosmetic make up routine, it does not come naturally to everyone but you can help it as much as possible. The main point to having great looking skin is keeping it hydrated by applying a good moisturiser to your face before applying make up. Applying this everyday will help keep your face looking young and fresh because it will be hydrated.

Hydration is simply moisturising and keeping everything soft. A dry flakey complexion is very aging and will create wrinkles that you just do not want, they are avoidable if you stick to a daily routine of moisturising your face morning and night. Removing make up is very important and a good remover should be used, there are plenty of products and expensive does not always mean they are the best ones.

Going to the gym and getting a good work out and a great toned body is only part of the overall package, it is of no use having a great body if the outer layer covering it looks like crepe paper because it has not been given the same attention.

Tip 1. Blend your make-up well and the rule of thumb should be to keep it simple. There is nothing more aging than overdoing your make up and having your face looking too busy, too much powder can be aging as well due to it drying the skin.

Tip 2. Always always use a sun block cream of at least 30 plus. The sun is the most damaging thing to hit you than anything. Try to keep covered or just out of it if possible.

Tip 3. Wash your make-up brushes once a month as the bristles can harbour all sorts of germs and bacteria that can actually block your pores and thus cause breakouts.

When you think of a beautiful person, you immediately think of someone with beautiful facial skin. Are you wondering what you can do to achieve radiant beautiful skin? It’s easy to believe that it’s just about what products you use, and that when you find the right products you will get perfect skin over night. But the truth is that having a healthy lifestyle is what makes your skin look its best today and the rest of your life. Here are some completely natural face care tips that will make your skin glow!

1. Eat a Nutrient Rich Diet

To make your skin glow from within, feed it with all the nutrients it needs. You get those from nature’s foods: berries, fruits, greens, nuts and other raw fats. They contain all the vitamins, minerals and antioxidants your skin needs to look young and radiant. Avoid things that make your facial skin look dull, greasy and break out like; junk foods, sugar, alcohol and smoking.

2. Drink a Lot of Water

Drink about 8-12 glasses of water every day to keep your skin hydrated and young. It’s important that it is clean water, so you don’t get any pollution or other bad stuff into your body and skin. So if you haven’t already, get yourself a water filter.

3. Use Natural Skin Care Products

Regular skin care products are made of cheap chemicals with long shelf life, which might make you look good today but will make your skin age faster and may even be harmful to your health. To keep looking young and fresh, buy only natural face care products with completely safe and natural ingredients.

Most individuals have little to no idea why parabens are so detrimental when it comes to skin care products. The fact that the majority of store-bought lotions and creams contain excessive levels of these chemicals is a shame really. Maintaining healthy looking skin, after all, is something most people who purchase these products are expecting to achieve. And though paraben free face care offerings are gaining increasing popularity now a days they still only account for a small fraction of the market.

A paraben is basically defined as laboratory produced synthetic preservative. The idea behind them is to essentially prolong a products shelf life by way of eliminating things like harmful bacteria’s. They can be found in a number of different items from makeup products to soaps, and even certain food items. And while extending the usable life of said products can add great long-term convenience they do in fact have a dark under belly. Recent studies have shown them to be a potential contributor to the development of skin and breast cancer. Some of the most common kinds of parabens include:

benzylparabens
isobutylparabens
methylparabens
propylparabens

It’s easy to understand why manufacturers of these various brands desire to use these synthetic alternatives. As with most things the bottom line usually comes down to cost, in both a products development and financial scalability. Mass producing synthetic chemicals in a lab is much more cost-effective than using natural ingredients. The end result however is the creation of an inferior and potentially damaging skin care product.

Why Paraben Free Face Care Products Are Superior

The reason paraben free face care products are vastly more beneficial for your skin is due to several important considerations.

They are much safer and gentler on your skin. Products loaded with parabens can often lead to direct skin irritation, rashes and even headaches in some people. Natural products rarely react to skin in such a way.

Natural ingredients don’t absorb into the skin in any harmful way. Studies have shown definitively that parabens seep into the pores of your skin and in worst case scenarios can lead to skin and even breast cancer.

Paraben free lotions and creams last much longer per application. Most people don’t consider how often they apply these products to their skin on a daily basis. Using them two or three times per day is not uncommon. Natural ingredients simply hold up longer.

The good news is that it’s never too late to switch from using these harmful brands and change over to beneficial paraben free lotions and creams for routine use. There is no doubt that you’ll see and feel the positive impact of these changes almost immediately! You might have to spend a little more money on these natural alternatives, but the fact that you need to use comparatively less volume throughout the day and the obvious health advantages gained definitely make it worth it.

To begin this blog about organic skin, facial and hair care and how to make homemade cosmetic products that you can make to keep you and especially your skin, face and hair in optimum health by giving you an overview on how your body functions and what is meant by you being healthy. Without this information, many of you will be lack the basic knowledge as to what you should be doing to improve or maintain your overall health and your skin.

The health of your body is determined by the collective health of every one of its cells. The healthy functioning of the cells is directly related to the following core healthy molecular materials used to build cells: 1. Oxygen; 2. Carbon; 3. Hydrogen; and 4. Nitrogen[1]. All foods are made up of these four basic elements. Combined with these core elements in your food are many inorganic minerals such as sodium, calcium, sulfur, magnesium, chlorine, etc. These core elements and the inorganic minerals are metabolized by our cells in order to build tissues. The tissues are used to build organs, the organs are used to build core systems like the immune system and your skin, and these systems are used to build the body.

The body consist of well over 100 trillion cells. These cells interact in multiple ways to handle multiple cellular processes that control the cell’s environment, reparation, communication, transportation, policing, performance, pH balancing, medical needs and nutrition as well as toxic and waste (including free radicals) removal[2]. Even if you are eating the perfect diet for your body type and avoiding any toxins in your environment, the acidic waste generated through metabolism needs to be constantly flushed from your body through your key organs. For example, the kidneys remove neutralized waste salts, uric acid, ammonia, the lungs take carbonic dioxide out from carbonic acids making your blood more alkaline and your skin uses perspiration to dispose of acidic waste products. Therefore any ss long as you are providing your cells with a healthy stress free environment, nourishing foods, clean water and air, and bathing your skin in biodegradable organic soaps and shampoos and moisturizing with organic oils for your skin and hairs, your body will have all that it needs to continue functioning properly including the disposal of all waste products in your body.

Of the trillions of cells in your body, they can be grouped into about 200 different types that require 90 plus nutrients to produce the hormones, peptides, neurotransmitters and other materials required for cellular renewal and the proper functioning of the body. The types of cells range from stem cells, blood cells and blood cells, to heart cells, spleen cells and muscle cells through to brain cells, eye cells, skin cells and nerve cells. Each cell performs its own unique functions that combine with other cells to provide synergistic choreography and orchestration of all the body’s functions. The different cells have a different half-lives. This means that your body is constantly renewing itself throughout your lifetime. Your skin which is the body’s largest organ is replaced every 21 to 28 days, your heart is renewed every 8 months, a new liver every 5 months, and your blood every 90 days. In the case of your bones because of the nature of the matrix being very hard (consisting of Vitamin D, calcium, boron and oesteoclasts) it renews every 7-10 years[3]. The key thing to remember is that the quality of the renewal of all of your cells is dependent on the quality of building materials you have provided in the forms of nutrients (i.e. amino acids, carbohydrates, essential fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, phyto-nutrients, sunshine, oxygen and water) and/or toxins that you have provided. If it is nutrient rich and not lacking in essential nutrients, then the regenerated body will be stronger than the original. If it is nutrient poor (i.e. missing key nutrients) and/or high in toxins, it will be weaker than before and will continue to worsen unless you make changes in your diet and environment[4].

To give you an idea of how this translates, consider that 10 to the power of 12 cells or 1% of your body mass needs to be regenerated every day[5]. If you are providing nutrient poor materials and toxins to your body, this regeneration will not take place. Instead your body’s own proteins will endanger your life since after metabolism, many become free floating providing an environment for poisonous and fungal infections to grow on them. The toxins and wastes will accumulate in your body creating an anaerobic environment that is hospitable to fungus, bacteria, cancer cells, etc. This accumulation of waste in and around the cells is what causes aging in the body. The most ready measure any person can do to have an indication of their state of overall health is to measure the pH of their urine and saliva in the morning. This is because pH is a controlling factor for hundreds of enzymes in the body for digestion, assimilation of nutrients and the production of energy in the cells. When your body is in a healthy state, you saliva pH should be 6.2 to 6.4, your urine pH should be 5.5 to 6.0. This would indicate that your blood pH is probably around it ideal measure of 7.30 to 7.45[6]. If your pH level is below these ranges, your body is overly acidic most likely indicating a deficiency of potassium, magnesium, calcium, trace minerals as well as possible high pulse rate. To give you an idea of how long cells can continue to thrive when they are kept in a nutrient rich environment free from waste products, a French physiologist, Alexia Carrell kept a chicken heart alive for about twenty-eight years in a saline solution containing minerals in the same proportion as chicken blood. He kept the extra cellular fluids constant and disposed of the cellular waste products daily by changing the fluid. It’s only when he stopped changing the solution did the heart cells die[7].

If you have been allowing toxins and waste to accumulate in your body, your health will start to be compromised, you will find yourself getting sick and your body’s built-in compensating mechanisms will be activated to compensate by neutralizing and excreting acidic toxins and waste from the blood, cells, lymph and tissue fluids. The eight compensating mechanisms are: 1. Increased Oxygenation through respiration; 2. Pulling Amino Acid reserves from intra-cellular amino acids; 3. Pull in high pH body fluids from the lymph and saliva; 4. Pulling High pH Electrolytes from bones, teeth and muscles, 5. Excrete acids through the body’s elimination systems such as the skin, colon, urinary tract and respiratory system; 6. Manufacture High pH Bicarbonate Ion from CO2 for diffusion into blood plasma; 7. Push Excess Acids to outer extremities away from vital organs (in terms of your skin this leads to dermatitis and joints and fingers rheumatoid arthritis); and finally 8. Dumping Acids into the Blood and Vital Organs. If number 8, happens, you body is in trouble because it means that your body’s pH is in deep in the acidic range and dependent on the nature of your cellular weakness and genetic makeup, this can lead to one of a number degenerative diseases such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease and other chronic degenerative diseases[8].

When you are ill, it can be down primarily to either nutrient deficiency, exposure and/or accumulation of toxins in your body, and finally the accumulation of waste in your body. So logically the key to restoring yourself to full health is to not just directly attack the virus or bacteria since the low pH is your body creates an environment hospitable to virus and bacteria, but also to eliminate the toxins and waste (i.e. detox) and at the same time to provide the proper nutrients to your body (i.e. change your environment, change your diet and change what you products you put on your skin, face and hair). When you restore the proper environment for cellular regeneration, a number of positive things happen: 1. The virus, bacteria or malignant cells die off because the majority cannot survive in the healthy aerobic environment – this is especially the case with cancer cells which can only survive in an anaerobic environment (Dr. Otto Warburg won the Nobel Prize for this discovery); 2. Your immune system is able to properly defend your body against these invaders; 3. Your energy levels go up as your body has the nutrients required for cellular regeneration and is no longer needs to using energy for the various compensating mechanisms to neutralise acidic toxins and waste, leaving your body with more energy.

With all the potential dangers paraben has been found to give, paraben-free face care is a must today. Just how important is it to avoid paraben in your skin care routine?

You have probably heard that parabens are NO-NO in skin care products. But how important is it really to be serious about paraben-free face care?

Parabens today are found in a wide range of household products including commercial moisturizers, shampoos, shaving gels, personal lubricants, topical creams and toothpaste. Parabens are also used as additives in many food products. Parabens are added in these products because of their excellent ability to prevent fungal and bacterial contamination. But considering how widely-used they are, it can be virtually impossible to avoid them. This is the reason why consumers have to be vigilant about their choices in products to use every day.

The Risks of Parabens

But what is it about parabens that make them a threat to health? To start with, parabens have been found to mimic the hormone estrogen. Not in a good way through, as this effect seems to be linked with the development of breast cancer.

Studies on animals at the Department of Toxicology in Tokyo Metropolitan Research Laboratory of Public Health have also shown that exposure of parabens in mammals led to the abnormal secretion of testosterone and unusual trends in their reproductive system. Furthermore, there are studies that seem to suggest that parabens can affect the growth and development of adults and babies alike.

No Definitive Proof BUT…

At present, there are still many household products we use everyday which contain parabens. Parabens have not entirely banned as an ingredient because there is yet to be a definitive proof that can concretely mark paraben as harmful to the health. However, considering the possibility, are you willing to take the risk? Perhaps you would agree that the precautionary route is still best in cases like these. Why choose paraben-based products which just MIGHT be harmful, when you can have paraben-free face care products that are guaranteed risk free?

There is indeed no harm in taking the precautionary route – as clich goes, it is always better to be safe than sorry. There are now a wide range of products that do not contain paraben, thanks to efforts of health and skin care companies to also go the safe way, for the sake of their consumers.

It is important to know that paraben-free products are just as effective as paraben-based ones. As mentioned earlier, parabens are usually used as preservatives in formulations. Formulations with no preservatives are even better formulations because they also do away with potential irritants. The best paraben-free face care products are those that contain 100% natural ingredients clinically proven to work.

No to Parabens

When dealing with products for your skin, make sure to prioritize safety and health. Yes, there might not be concrete studies yet that can prove without doubt that parabens are dangerous, why take the risk when there are safe alternatives made available for you?

If you’re confused about what you need to do, to get and keep beautiful skin, you’re not alone. It doesn’t really have to be so complicated. Along with using quality products and following a good daily skin care routine, there are 5 essential face care tips to follow in order to have beautiful skin.

The best part of these skin care tips is that they are all completely natural and easy to make a part of your everyday life.

Tip #1 – Feed Your Skin

Feed your skin the healthy way. Eating a healthy diet rich in nutrients will greatly enhance the likelihood of you having beautiful, radiant skin.Healthy foods are filled with antioxidants which protect the skin from sun and environmental damage. Antioxidants also help to prevent wrinkles.

Fruit, especially berries, green veggies and nuts are a few of the kinds of food containing antioxidants. Just as important is to avoid deep fried foods, processed foods, smoked foods, as well as those that are high in sugar. This type of food can cause blemishes and dull looking skin.

Tip #2 – Hydrate Your Skin

This is probably the single most important thing you can do for the health of your skin. Although it’s important to drink water, it doesn’t mean you have to drink endless glasses of the wet stuff. The recommended amount is between 8 and 12 glasses a day. That seems like a lot to drink and it may not always be possible.

You can replace at least some of your water consumption by eating foods with high water content. Certain foods contain a lot of water, naturally. Many raw vegetables and most fruits are high in water content. Needless to say, these kinds of foods are good for you too. So supplement your water drinking with these types of foods for overall health benefits.

Tip #3 – Relax

Stress affects your whole body, but one of the first places it will show up is on your face and skin. Worrying and feeling stressed out can make you look and feel older. Those lines around your mouth appear deeper; the bags under your eyes become more pronounced.

When you find yourself feeling stressed, try taking a few deep breaths. You may find that you unconsciously hold your breath when you are tense. Breathing relieves the tension and forces you to relax. Notice how those lines smooth out when you are relaxed.

Find a few stress relievers. They can be things like taking a warm, soothing soak in the tub complete with a facial mask, practicing meditation, or doing some yoga.

Tip #4 – Exercise

You may groan to think about exercise as being good for the skin, but it’s true. When you exercise, you get the blood flowing more than usual, giving your face a vibrant color, and making you feel good. Increased blood flow is good for skin. Think about the pasty look that many smokers get over time. At least part of that is because of the decrease in blood flow caused by smoking.

Exercise doesn’t have to be anything in particular. Even walking is a great overall activity. Just aim to get moving and raise your pulse to benefit.

Tip #5 – Sleep

It’s more than important to get enough sleep, every night. They don’t call it “beauty rest” for nothing. While you sleep, your body regenerates and repairs. To maintain vibrant skin and a glowing complexion, be sure that you get enough sleep.

Healthy skin is important to everyone. Your face is the most important part of your body, because its what every looks at first and great facial skin is the first step to creating a fresh, beautiful appearance. Your face requires the proper skin serums and a daily regimen to keep it fresh and beautiful. The most important thing to remember when choosing a facial skin care regime is to choose products that do not contain harmful chemicals. Chemicals, like botox or collagen, my have an immediate effect on the skin, however, in the longer term they will leave your skin facial muscles weak, and cause the skin to sag, or develop dark circles under the eyes. An organic chemical free skin care regimen, will use only natural ingredients to aid your skin in developing natural defensives it already has to promote skin health.

Choosing a Cleanser

When choosing a cleanser, be sure to look for one that does not contain abrasive chemicals, like used it soap, because it will overly dry your skin and eventually cause wrinkles. You will want to look for a cleanser that contains Aloe Vera and some Green Tea to natural remove free radials and toxins.

Daily Moisturizer

Aloe Vera and Jojoba is essential for maintaining good health and skin. Jojoba is an amazing ant oxidizing agent, which is throughout our body in order to boost the immune system. Human skin also contains wax esters for which production steadily decreases with age, causing the skin wrinkles. The extract from Jojoba Nut contains alpha, delta, and gamma Tocopherol, which are all forms of vitamin E. Unlike “oil in water” skin formulas which evaporate when they reach the skin’s surface, Jojoba fluid penetrates the lipid layer forming a non-greasy layer with exceptional transepidermal water control. Jojoba prevents stretch marks thanks to the elastic effect on the skin. It should also be applied after exposing the skin to the sun, because Jojoba contains curative properties which will reduce inflammation and prevent flaking.
